Sew the four tree blocks together in alternating fashion as in the picture. Now you should have that cute little pinwheel in the center!
For the Pinwheel Corners version, make four pinwheel blocks for the corners. Sew eight red 2-1/2” squares into a border strip for each side. Cut the remaining green strata into 2-1/2” strips. Sew together to form long strips for the border. Trim each to 16-1/2”. Sew a red strip to a green strip. Sew a pinwheel on both ends of two strips. Sew the two short strips to the opposite sides of the quilt, and sew the two long strips to the top and bottom. This one is done!
For the others, cut the remaining green strata into 2-1/2” wide strips. Sew together to make the inside border strips, trim to size and sew in place. Note that the Candy Cane Lane (Version 4) has an HST in each corner of the green border.
Follow the diagram for the quilt of your choice and arrange the red and white HSTs and sew in place. Or make up a totally different border! When your quilt is completed, e-mail me a photo and I will post it here on my web site! E-mail me at patchalittle@yahoo.com I hope you have fun with this!
