January 2008:  What's Your Stitch 'N Stuff, a local quilt shop here in Virginia Beach, has
a quilting group that meets every Friday. Occasionally they decide to swap quilt blocks.
Last year they chose to swap Shoo Fly blocks for my pattern, Pioneer Trail. They invited
me to come to their bee on January 18, 2008, to see the results of those who had
finished their quilts. As you can see from the pictures below, each quilt became a result
of what the quiltmaker chose for border and setting triangles. Perhaps the colors of the
zig-zag trail represent what they envisioned the colors of their trail to be.
PIONEER TRAIL:  In this design the Shoo Fly blocks
represent the wagon wheels and the zig-zag setting
represents the trail west with its many obstacles.
Here is a group shot of the four quilts that were displayed that day.
Actually, there were others that participated, but are not yet completed.
Aren't they wonderful!
Pat's quilt, with her beautiful border fabric!
Bobbi made this quilt and had it completed
in time to give it as a Christmas gift!
Betts chose that wild green
fabric for her border from the
Pennsylvania Plain and Fancy group.
It looks awesome!
Mary Lynn added a scrappy border
around her quilt. A great way to
use up some scraps and add
interest to the quilt as well!
Barbara used a beautiful Ginny Beyer
print for the border of her quilt.
Sensational!

Each quilt is just a little different from
one another, as you can see, and each
is a beauty in its own right!

Thanks ladies!
